Foto of the ACHEMA - exhibition for chemical engineering and process industry in Frankfurt. We exhibited the “bodo”  operating at 3000 r.p.m, 10 bar, and a shaft deflection of max. 2,5 mm. No leakage ! after several hours running time. The pressure of 10 bar was produced with our SPH2300 by hand.

which was running 4 times longer against chemical sludge than 12 other mechanical seals of different manufactures at BASF in Ludwigshafen(  without flushing)

turquoise:    mechanical seal in worldwide standard size  (C1 and C2)
gray:        stationary seal ring
pink:        buffer fluid ( very strong buffer fluid pumping-device)

Proposal for the seal execution:

  • Bellow seal without O-rings
  • Measures according to DIN
  • Seal –rings: stationary tungsten carbide without O-ring, running: silicium carbide

Showing the free room due to „bodo“ situation near bearing. Temperature and pressure dates can be easily shown due to the free room.
P1:  The pressure in front of the “bodo” is normally calculated by the pump manufacture.
 At impellers with back-vanes P1= about 50 -70 % of the discharge pressure, without  vanes about 100% with back holes about 20%.		 Flushing of the single seal on the product – side ( yellow ).
With labyrinth -sleeve(G) the flushing capacity can be reduced to about 50%.

Both with the pump chambers is much worse.		 Automatic buffer fluid 2-4 bar above buffer fluid by difference regulator First a single mechanical seal can be tested, and if necessary with a second atmospheric single- seal, changed to a double - seal-without having to change something.
